The Birmingham D.A. would like to extend a warm welcome to all members of the Camping & Caravanning Club.

Birmingham D.A was founded in 1907, thus making us the oldest D.A. in the Club. We are still a thriving D.A. and each year has a full camping programme, approximately thirty~four camping weekends are booked with the first and the last six of the season usually adjacent to a village hall enabling us to enjoy a Saturday night social or whatever our weekend stewards decide to organize. All camping club members are welcome to join us and we will endeavour to give them a warm friendly welcome.

Birmingham D.A. have two holiday sites running again this year, Avonbank Meadows Pershore, a lovely friendly site next to the river, and our old stalwart at Harlyn Bay, Padstow, Cornwall.
For more information on these sites or anyone interested in stewarding one of our holiday sites please come forward and get in touch with our Holiday Site Officer (Ray Homer)

Unfortunately as we do not have a youth leader, Birmingham D.A. are not operating a C.C.Y. Section at the present time. This is for children 12 years and over, where they would camp in their own area under the supervision of the leader, when they would aquire the skills to become independent future campers.
If any of our members are interested fulfilling this important role please come forward and get the information needed for this position, I can assure you it can be a most enjoyable and rewarding experience (most of the time) and I speak from experience.

For many year's now Birmingham D.A. sponsor a local charity. Fund raising is done by holding raffles, auctions, table top sales and our Penny Fair which is held at our children's weekend at Comberton, August Bank Holiday. Approximately £2000.00 is raised every year thanks to the good support of our members. Equipment is then bought for the chosen charity for the year.
This year we will be supporting the Pancreatitis Supporters Network.

We have some new faces on our committee this year, and many new ideas being discussed as to our programme throughout the year. I'm certain that our members will have some memorable weekends.

Come and join us and I'm sure you'll be back, after a "REAL BRUMMIE WELCOME"

June Homer.
