Who we are

Hello and welcome to the Birmingham District Association of The ‘Camping and Caravanning Club’.

Here is a little bit about us.

Founded in 1907

The oldest and once the largest of the DA’s in the Central Counties Region.

​

Up to the mid 2000’s the DA thrived with lots of Members and a very healthy committee of about 15, putting on large meets at big venues.

​

Unfortunately, a sign of the times right now, like so many other DA’s our committee is a group of 7.

​

We are unsure of just how many members we have assigned to our DA as, the Club HQ refuse to inform us of the details of these people.  This is such a shame as we would love to invite them to join us at a weekend meet or a Holiday meet and get to know them. We might even find someone who would like to join our committee.  If you are a member of Birmingham DA, reading this, maybe you would get in touch through our email or phone (details on this website) to let us know who you are, please.

As we are a small committee and have being doing these roles for many years, we prefer to keep our camping and caravanning meets quite basic. So we put on 7 ‘free & easy’ weekends throughout the season. These include our Astley AGM weekend with food and entertainment, Droitwich Saltfest weekend at Dodderhill and Halloween at Astley. The whole committee work on our Temporary Holiday Site at Harlyn Bay, Cornwall throughout July and August. 

We are a very friendly bunch, very welcoming and love to meet new members, even if they are only passing through.
