CANCELLATION OF BIRMINGHAM DA HARLYN BAY THS – AUGUST 2020
The site owners at Higher Harlyn are now in possession of (draft) “Covid Secure” guidelines from their local council. In order to comply with these, and also with the Government ‘Social Distancing’ guidance, they have made the following operational changes for 2020. These will be effective once the site is allowed to re-open.
The following site facilities will therefore remain CLOSED throughout the season.
Bar & Restaurant
In order to limit capacity the site will now operate an ADVANCED BOOKING only system with no “casual” arrivals allowed, and no “Day” Visitors will be permitted.
All pitches will be for single unit occupancy only and NO GROUP bookings will be accepted. They are also currently in the process of cancelling all advance bookings where camping units do not have on board sanitary facilities.
The BDA committee has carefully considered these changes, and has also taken into account the Cornwall County Council’s views about restricting visitors to the county, and their warnings that many public facilities may remain closed (e.g. Public Toilets at beaches/Car Parks). It is therefore regretted that we have taken a unanimous decision NOT to operate the Harlyn THS this year.
We know that this will disappoint, but it has been taken after very careful consideration, and well in advance of the (revised) opening date of 4th August, in order that members can choose alternative sites where these are operating.
We hope to run the THS as normal in 2021 and look forward to welcoming back our members and regulars.
